Lineshree Moodley has been named as Visa’s new Country Head for South Africa (SA).
Lineshree will be a member of Visa’s Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) leadership team and be in charge of developing and implementing the company’s growth strategy in the region.
The hiring of Lineshree is in keeping with Visa’s goal to continue developing a strong regional team by aligning special skills and abilities with important business prospects.
“Lineshree’s hiring highlights the priority we place in the South African market and in supporting our clients and partners,” stated Aida Diarra, Senior Vice President at Visa and Head of Sub-Saharan Africa, in response to the new position. She will be able to contribute right away to our strategy and expansion within the region and Sub-Saharan Africa due to the breadth of experience she provides. We anticipate Lineshree’s leadership in expanding on our ongoing efforts to support the acceleration of digital trade in South Africa.
Lineshree held a number of positions at Visa prior to her current one, including Head of Visa Consulting and Analytics for Sub-Saharan Africa and, most recently, Interim Cluster Country Head for Visa South Africa. Before joining Visa, Lineshree worked as a Managing Director at Accenture Financial Services (SA).
Lineshree has more than 17 years of experience in retail banking and has had a considerable influence on Sub-Saharan Africa’s planned development of e-commerce. Additionally, she has helped fintechs and mobile network carriers in a variety of markets build strategies and digitize payments across the continent.
Lineshree is passionate about making sure that the commercial value unlocked in the financial services sector (in South Africa and SSA) directly contributes to the improvement of individuals, organizations, and economies.
