Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), has formally released the first issues of its West African Development Outlook (WADO) and RENDEZ-VOUS quarterly newsletters.
Members of EBID’s Board of Governors, Board of Directors, ECOWAS institutions and agencies, bilateral and multilateral partners, and the press corps were in attendance during the virtual launching ceremony.
The launch of the Bank’s knowledge products aims to improve the sub-socio-economic region’s discourse, inform and add value to the ECOWAS Member States, and brand the Bank not only as a Development Finance Institution (DFI), but also as a Knowledge Institution, aware of the sub-socio-economic region’s challenges and thus better positioned to partner Member States in the post-conflict period.
“The WADO is an annual publication of socio-economic indicators in the sub-region, which reports on the performance and outlook at the country level as well as the sub-regional level, with recommendations on how to navigate some of the sub-development region’s challenges in the short-to-medium-term,” Dr. Donkor said during his speech at the virtual ceremony.
Performance and prospects, policy alternatives, country briefs, and a statistical appendix are the four sections of the booklet.
The RENDEZ-VOUS, on the other hand, is a quarterly Newsletter (both print and online) that provides relevant and useful information on the Bank’s activities as well as a forum for sharing development content with stakeholders.
It is divided into several sections, including news and events, a quarterly emphasis, an opinion segment, and a variety of information related to EBID’s partners.
Dr. Donkor invited all EBID stakeholders to read the publications in order to better understand and collaborate with EBID in order to transform ECOWAS communities.
